Den Bosch: a city full of history

As a foreigner, you may want to know a bit more your new city, especially about its history. And with Den Bosch, you will be served!



First, you can’t go to Den Bosch without visiting the St. John’s Cathedral. This monument is the height of gothic architecture in the North Brabant. Located right in the city centre of Den Bosch, the St John’s Cathedral is the biggest catholic church of the Netherlands with towers which rich 73 metres high. But the magical part of this building is when you come inside: you’ll find gilts everywhere and stained-glass windows create a welcoming atmosphere and give a lot of natural light in the church. We recommend you go to the St. John’ Cathedral, even if you’re not a Christian, but just interested by architecture. Moreover, it is quite interesting to visit it while it is running cats and dogs. Indeed, don’t forget that you are in the Netherlands, rain is going to be a part of your trip.

Then, when you arrive in Den Bosch, you can’t miss the Golden Dragon, located in front of the train station of the city. This dragon is the symbol of the city of ‘S-Hertogenbosch and so an important part of the history of Den Bosch. That’s why we used the Golden Dragon as a part of the logo of our Den Box.

As you can see, there is many ways to learn about the history of Den Bosch. Don’t hesitate to go to the museum in the city centre which will introduce you all the history of the city and the best places to visit in ‘S-Hertogenbosch.
